Have you ever wondered how a Nakambe carpet is made?

Let's connect with the process behind each piece: the materials, the hands that craft it, and the care woven into every detail.

As you explore, you begin to see the story inside the weaves of your carpet.

The journey to make a carpet

Follow the steps below to discover how Nakambe carpets are made.

Buying the fabrics

We carefully source quality fabrics, 100% cotton, selecting textures and colors that will define each carpet.

Washing and drying fabrics

The fabrics are washed to set and define their colors, and to prevent shrinkage during future washes.

Combining colors and encode those

Colors are combined to create perfect patterns for your home and encoded to guide artisans through the making process.

Transport to the prison

The prepared materials are delivered to the workshop, where the crafting process begins.

Cutting fabrics and loop the yarn

Fabrics are cut into strips and sewn together to shape colored yarns, forming the base of each carpet.

Crocheting carpets

Each carpet is handmade through careful crocheting, stitch by stitch, bringing the design to life.

Quality and control

Every piece is inspected for durability and finish, then meticulously cleaned of all excess threads from the cutting process to ensure a perfect result.

Delivery to the shops

The finished carpets are delivered to stores, ready to find a place in your home.
